My role as (one of) the Youth Governors includes speaking at the conference, helping facilitate positive change in conference procedure and atmosphere, and getting to preside over the governor’s cabinet. My personal philosophy regarding the 2026 conference aims to allow everyone to have their voices heard in as fun and stress-free an environment as possible. Outside of Youth & Government, I am involved in Theatre, International Thespian Society, Latin Honor Society, and more.

Youth Governor

Owen

Cleveland School of Science and Medicine

Hello, everyone! I am one of two youth governors this year, and I took this position with the well-being of all of the delegates at the forefront of my priority. As youth governor, I will ensure every bill passed to my desk will be viewed with an open-minded and honest lens. I can’t wait to interact with you all!

Secretary of State

Rayanna

Findlay High School

I’m excited to be serving as one of your Secretaries of State this year! I’ll be helping with the elections process and working with candidates throughout the conference. This is my second year as a YIG delegate, and I’ve learned that no matter how much experience you have, there’s always something new to gain from this program. Outside of YIG, I stay involved through clubs like Red Cross, Cultural Diversity, and National Honor Society. I also play soccer, bowl, and lacrosse! When I’m not busy with school or activities, I love spending my free time hiking, driving, running, and journaling. Those are my favorite ways to relax and recharge. I can’t wait to meet all of you and help make this conference a great experience!

Secretary of State

Cali

Delaware Hayes High School

Hello! I was elected Secretary of State, and I am looking forward to this year’s conference! This is my third year participating in Youth and Government. In my first two years, I wrote bills on two topics: one about crosswalks in school zones and the other concerning plastic bags in grocery stores. I decided to run for Secretary of State inspired by my friend Greta, who graduated last school year, and was the previous Secretary of State at the early conference. Outside of Youth and Government, I run cross country and track, play piano, and I am also a member of the National Honor Society at Hayes.

Mazie

Hello, I  will be one of the Presidents of the Senate this year. I will be mediating debate on the Scarlet Senate floor and ensuring everyone gets a fair chance to speak their mind and present their bills. This is my third year in YIG and I am lucky enough to have experienced the House and Senate floors at state conferences, as well as attending CONA over the summer. Outside of YIG, I serve on my district’s school board as Student Representative as well as participating in clubs such as National Honors Society, Teen Eco, Global Scholars, and Orchestra. I am so so excited to hear what everyone has to say this year, it’s going to be our best year yet!

President of the Senate – Gray

Braden

Wellston High School

I will be the President of the Gray Senate. I will be making sure that as many bills are heard as possible and everyone feels comfortable to speak their opinions. In my free time I enjoy reading horror novels, going on bike rides, and watching movies. At Wellston High School I am a part of Drama Club, the Bowling Team, and Interact Club. I’m also the Wellston High School Mascot, Rocky the Rocket. I hope everyone has fun at the conference!

Speaker of the House – Scarlet

Mallory

Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School

Hi everyone! I’m a junior from the Brecksville-Broadview Heights delegation. I’m so excited to be serving as one of your Speakers of the House this year! As Speaker, my goal is to ensure that every delegate’s voice is heard. I want to see as many bills make it through debate as possible in an engaging environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas. This is my third year in Youth and Government, and I’m so grateful for how much I’ve grown through this program. Over the summer, I was also very fortunate to attend the YMCA’s Conference on National Affairs (CONA). Outside of Y&G, I’m a member of the swim team and track & field. I’m also involved in marching band, Key Club, our Music Society (Tri-M), and National Honor Society. I’m honored to help lead this year’s House chamber and I hope everyone has a great conference!

Speaker of the House – Gray

Katya

Lexington High School

Hi! I will be the Speaker of the Gray House this year. I am a senior from the great Lexington Delegation and I am so lucky and excited to be spending his last conference with you guys. I have done YIG for 3 years and discovered a passion for learning and politics. Outside of the club I run cross country and track and I swim in the winter. I also love ceramics and crocheting. My job as the speaker of the house will be to facilitate discussion on your bills. I can’t wait to hear everyone’s ideas and talk to this next generation of young politicians.

Chief Justice – Supreme Court

Matthew

Carroll High School

Hey all! I am a senior from the Carroll High School delegation. I will be your honorable Chief Justice this year. As head of the Supreme Court, my job is to ensure a fair and smooth trial for all bills that go before the Court. I, alongside my fellow Court Justices, will be deciding if your bills are constitutional or not. As a 3-year member of YAG and former member of the Judicial Branch, I realize that the constitution and trial process can be difficult to understand whether you are a member of the Court or not. That’s why I am committed to providing accessible resources about our branch and the case law that defines the Constitution(s). I’ve always had a love for law and politics. In fact, I’m currently taking college courses in Constitutional Law and participating in my third year of Model UN. Outside of the chaotic world of academia, I enjoy oil painting, drawing, hiking, and reading sci-fi novels. I can’t wait to meet everyone and hear about your bills and their interesting legal arguments!

Attorney General – Supreme Court

Marilia

Campus International High School

Hey! I will be the Attorney General. I will be the one issuing subpoenas to delegates if I find their bills in any way unconstitutional. I hope I can make the court process interesting and as exciting as it was when I was subpoena’d my first year in Youth and Government. I am President of Student Council. I enjoy debate and have been a delegate of Model UN since 7th grade. I also have played Viola for 8 years and love all genres of music. I can’t wait to meet all of you and give all of you a great time at the conference!

Head Lobbyist

Cameron

Bishop Ready High School

Hey everyone, I am so excited to be your Head Lobbyist this year! As a lobbyist, me and my colleagues will work to help the delegates be more informed on the bills they are voting on while they are in committee. This is my fourth year doing Youth in Gov and I am so excited to be working with you all again. Last year I was the President of the Senate, and before that I was a committee chair. Outside of Youth in Gov I am part of a lot of clubs at my school. I am the Student Council President and I am part of the National Honors Society and BETA Club. I am also a member of the Theater Department, Choir, Art Club, Environmental Club, and a bunch of other fun things. I also attended the Conference On National Affairs (CONA) last year and served as a committee chair. I can’t wait for another great year at Youth in Gov!

Media Editor in Chief

Danny

Mansfield High School

Hi everyone! 🙂 I’ll be your Media Editor in Chief for this year’s conference! This is my second year doing Youth in Government, and of course also my second in the media department. Over the summer I was lucky enough to participate in CONA’s media team as well. Through my role I hope to properly capture the YIG spirit and shine some light on behind the scenes, but for the media department in particular I’d love to make sure we properly venture the depths of each media delegate’s unique skills and put them into practice. Having said that, YIG aside, I love to spend my free time drawing, hiking, playing games, hanging out with my friends, watching horror movies, and haunting local parks. I’m honored to participate in another wonderful year at YIG, and I hope everyone has fun!

Chief Justice – Appellate Court

Camden

Wellston High School

Hello!  I have the honor and pleasure of serving as Chief Justice of the Appellate Court. My job as chief justice will be to lead and guide the Appellate Court through mock debate and trial. My goal as PO is to set the Appellate Program up for success for many years to come! I have been a member of YG for 4 years. In that time, I have worked with many amazing people, and I’ve grown and learned so much. I am also president of the National Honor Society and of my senior class. Outside of school, I practice martial arts, work out, and enjoy nature. My hopes for this year’s conference are to mentor delegates through our judicial processes and to connect with and help grow the young minds who will lead our future!
