National Judicial Competition

The National Judicial Competition (NJC) bring together Youth & Government participants from around the country to face off in mock trial and appellate competitions. The 2026 event will be held in Austin, Texas on July 27th – 30th.

  • Registration Period: Open now – May 31, 2026
  • Cost:  $800
  • Case Materials Released: June
  • Cost Includes: hotel (triple occupancy), two dinners, Tuesday night evening activities, state conference t-shirt and conference printed materials.
  • Note: Transportation is not included and must be booked on your own.

Participants must be currently enrolled in grades 10-12 and have participated in OHYG this past conference. Appellate teams must be 2-4 students. Mock Trial teams must be 5-8 students. Check out the video below for more information! Or, visit the NJC website https://www.ymcayag.org/njc/

  • May 12th @ 6:00 pm – Orientation Zoom Meeting 
  • June 4th @ 6:00 pm – Meeting (mandatory)
  • June 11th @ 6:00 pm – Zoom Practice (optional)
  • July 9th @ 6:00 pm – Zoom Practice (optional)
  • July 16th @ 6:00 pm – Parent Zoom Meeting and pre-trip meeting (mandatory)

Important Dates

  • May 1st – May 31st – Register here!
  • May 31st  – $100 nonrefundable deposit due
  • June TBD – Case materials released and begin team meetings with coaches
  • June 14th – $300 Payment Due
  • July 12th – $400 Final Payment Due
  • July 17th – Medical Release Form Due
  • July 27th – 29th – Conference & Competition
