Governor’s Cabinet

Students work as a team to advance and advocate for the Governor’s agenda and priorities in the Governor’s Cabinet program. Cabinet members testify in legislative committees, speak one-on-one with fellow students, and occasionally address larger groups to build support for the Governor’s initiatives.

Additionally, students interview bill authors, examine proposed legislation, and provide recommendations to help the Youth Governor determine whether to sign or veto bills.

This program area requires an additional application in addition to State Assembly Registration. Students must be in the 8th grade and have at least 1 year experience at OHYG to apply. Applications are due December 4, 2026.
